Day One

Cups of Tea: 5
Weight : 8st 12lb
Song of the day: When the Day Met the Night - Panic at the Disco
Mood: Relaxed
So, today marks the start of my blog. I have no idea what people usually write in these things, or, for that matter, what on earth I will write about, but I'm sure that won't be a problem. I shall start with today and see where we go from here.
Today was the first day of my break from school after the dreaded GCSEs - I only have that M10 resit still to do. I have to say, it has been rather enjoyable. I've got plenty of time now to concentrate on my writing, which makes a change.
Quite a few things out of the ordinary have happened today, as a matter of fact. I tried a new dish - egg drop soup, which was delicious. When the parents are out, I find that I can try to broaden my culinary horizons without fear of being told to get out of the kitchen because I'm making a mess.

I had a phone call to say that my new glasses are ready. I can't wait to get them, despite the fact that I probably won't wear them for much longer than half an hour every day. Still, when I get them, I may wear them for a while to show them off.
Letters! I received one today from an old friend. It got me thinking; when was the last time I've received a letter that wasn't a bank statement? I think we ought to bring back letters in favour of email and IM. They're so lovely and very personal. Sometimes the old ways are the best.
I'm making myself a new pencil case for sixth form. I've had my old one since... good grief, when was the last time I took History? I think it was Year Nine. It will rely heavily on my sister's guidance with the sewing machine, domestically ignorant as I am. I shall post a picture when it's finished.
Right then, I'll stop rambling for now, and perhaps find cup number six.
Love,
Emma

  1. I find it really hard to imagine you at a sewing machine :P
In a nice way of course, i agree with bringing letters back - e-mails and msn are just quick fixes. The anticipation of a letter and just seeing it fall through the letterbox is so unique :)
